CROSSCAST 45 / SANDSTORM 1503HFS

Reel: The 20 CROSSCAST SURF 45 is a 45mm stroke long-distance reel designed to maximise
distance to gain access to untouched areas when fishing from shore.
It all revolves around the long-stroke spool, featuring a 2-degree front-facing taper to allow
line to fly off with ease. The long-stroke design minimises changes in direction for line
flowing off the spool. Combine that with Daiwa’s new Slow Cross Wrap Oscillation system
which evenly distributes the line more closely packed to itself up and down the spool,
resulting in improved casting distance across the board.
A sturdy carbon composite body houses a DIGIGEAR II design drive, digitally designed
and manufactured to exact tolerances to produce a reel which is smooth and strong. 20
CROSSCAST SURF is perfectly matched to any one of Daiwa’s large range of surf rods and
will be a big hit for anglers who like to keep two feet on solid ground.

Leveraging the designs and blank technologies used in Daiwa’s premium surfcasting rods,
the 21 Sandstorm achieves perfect balance. Featuring Daiwa’s HVF (High Volume Fiber)
construction, which combines precise resin control with unidirectional graphite fiber, a blank
with maximum graphite density is created, resulting in a responsive action with incredible
sensitivity. X45 Bias Wrap construction is then added to radically improve strength and
durability by eliminating twist and preventing blank distortion under load. By using this
design, the blank of the 21 Sandstorm is remarkably responsive under load, quick to recover
to its straight form, and delivers longer more efficient casts.
Building on this innovative blank, quality componentry has been used to ensure reliable
performance and line management. The 21 Sandstorm uses Fuji Stainless Steel M-Style
Concept ‘O’ guides with Aluminium Oxide inserts, and a Daiwa Seabass reel seat. The grip
section has a simple design with minimal components and elegantly finishes this lightweight
surfcasting weapon.
